About The Position

The Assistant Location Manager assists in directing production, distribution, quality control, and marketing operations for the Heartland Co-op location or assigned territory. This role involves coordinating various operational aspects, conferring with customers, developing efficient plans, reviewing expenses, and leading grain quality and safety compliance initiatives. The Assistant Location Manager also prepares accounting records and recommends budgets to management, while filling in for the Location Manager during their absence.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
  • Knowledge of AS 400 accounting and inventory software.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and commercial insurability.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares accounting records for the location.
  • Recommends budgets to management.
  • Fills in for the Location Manager during their absence.
  • Supervises employees in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
