The Assistant Laboratory Director assists in the overseeing of all lab-related processes and personnel, assists in the management of budgetary processes for Science and Mathematics, and works closely with the Laboratory Director, Institutional Policy, Risk Management, and Compliance to ensure all regulatory and safety standards for the college are met and upheld. This position reports to the Laboratory Director.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
• At least two years laboratory experience
• At least one year of management experience
• Applicable equivalencies (work experience and/or education achievements) may be considered on the above minimum qualifications

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of IT or technology experience

Responsibilities

• Support the Laboratory Director in managing the laboratory operations, safety, and compliance with regulations
• Collaborate with faculty to prepare labs (in-person and online)
• Responsible for production and distribution of lab kits for online science courses
• Supervise and train lab support staff, including scheduling and performance monitoring
• Assist with procurement and budgetary processes and inventory management
• Ensure classroom and technology needs are met
• Monitor and maintain lab facilities, equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness, safety and functionality
• Assist with proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and biohazards
• Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and safety protocols for all labs
• Other duties as assigned
