The University of Wisconsin-Madison International Division anticipates an opening for an Assistant International Safety and Security Director (Assistant ISSD). This is a full-time appointment based in the International Division, reporting to the UW-Madison International Safety and Security Director (ISSD). The Assistant ISSD assists and supports the ISSD in all assigned capacities and duties, serving as a critical resource for faculty, graduate students, undergraduates, postdocs, and staff engaged in international activities. The role involves coordinating direct safety and security support to travelers (before, during, and after travel), including helping manage international crises in coordination with other campus offices and resources. The assistant director supports the administration, coordination, and promotion of a comprehensive international safety and security preparedness strategy across several essential areas: Policy review, revision, and administration; Strategic risk assessment and crisis preparedness; Coordinating internal communications and shared resources/services; Supporting research, analysis, and coordination during crisis management; and Review and assessment of pre-departure safety and security planning, training, and resources.
