About The Position

As an Assistant Interior Designer, you will work on a fabulous and fun team of other talented designers, receive support from a mentor, and participate in all project phases through project coordination, organization, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture, preferably from an accredited institution
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in a similar position
  • Highly developed skills with Revit and Auto CAD, a must, and strong knowledge of Adobe Suite ( especially Photoshop), MS Office ( especially MS Power Point)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multi - family, commercial and/ or hospitality industries a plus.
  • Working knowledge of modeling software ( Sketch - up, 3 D Studios, rhino 3 - D, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Revit/AutoCAD drawings for schematic design and construction documentation.
  • Assist with space planning and layout development.
  • Support FF&E team during group and solo project installations—both local and remote.
  • Research, coordinate, and specify products, materials, and design features.
  • Communicate with vendors to check product availability and pricing; request and manage product samples.
  • Enter specifications into finalized schematic documents.
  • Assist in lighting fixture selection and coordination.
  • Attend project meetings to provide design and documentation support.
  • Create, manage, and organize electronic project files and sample bins.
  • Contribute to construction administration (CA) efforts, including coordination of RFPs, RFIs, shop drawings, and other documentation.
  • Assist team with materials, finishes, and product, vendor research, and selections.
  • Maintain organization of design studio.
  • Assist with FFE digital presentations.
  • Support and prepare FFE team on group and solo project installations, local, remote, and special projects.
  • Prepare FFE price and dimension plans based upon procurement software budgets and AutoCAD or Revit furniture and accessory plans.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and/or Revit and procurement software to prepare FFE price and dimension plans based upon budgets and dimensions.
  • Update furniture layouts in AutoCAD or Revit as needed based upon selected sizing.
  • Assist with paint color selections and plans.
  • Order FFE samples and swatches for projects.
  • Check stock and pricing on products.
  • Assemble installation binders with floor plans, cut sheets, lists, and color sheets.
  • Book travel and organizing CID credit card receipts.
  • Assist with inventory and returns upon completion of installations.
  • Administrative support with data, punch lists, and specification entry and support with inventory reports.
  • Support the contracts process by collaborating with internal teams to ensure design deliverables align with contract requirements, timelines, and scope. This includes helping to track milestones, understanding design scope per contract terms, and flagging potential design-related risks or scope changes.
