The Assistant Instrument and Control Systems Specialist is a technical role focused on the design and integration of instrumentation and process control systems for potable water treatment and distribution. The position involves assisting the lead designer in various aspects of process control network operations, including hardware and software selection, programming, and performance monitoring.

  • Assist in the design, configuration, and maintenance of the SCADA system.
  • Assist in the design, installation, and maintenance of Control System Network equipment and systems.
  • Assist in the design of databases and create, modify, and maintain database tables, forms, and reports.
  • Provide technical support as required by control system users.
  • Retrieve, analyze, and produce reports and documents on data as requested.
  • Monitor and report on SCADA security and vulnerability events or activities.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of custom-coded software and web applications.
  • Assist in the integration of instrumentation equipment used to monitor and control processes such as temperature, pressure, level, flow, vibration, and speed into the SCADA system.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
  • Associate's degree in a related field plus two years of experience in installation, configuration, programming, and maintenance of computers and network equipment.
  • Four years of relevant experience in the installation, configuration, programming, and maintenance of computers and network equipment.
  • Ability to commute to Rochester, NY 14610.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
