Within DCF, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) Program office is the single state authority for substance abuse and mental health services, responsible for planning, evaluation, and implementation of a comprehensive statewide system of care for prevention, treatment, and recovery for children and adults with serious mental illnesses or substance use disorders. Northeast Florida State Hospital (NEFSH) is a 706-bed, licensed mental health treatment facility established in 1959, providing person-centered services to adults with severe and persistent mental illness. This highly responsible and professional position serves as the Assistant Institution Superintendent for Northeast Florida State Hospital. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player, works seamlessly across all sections, uses independent judgment, takes a proactive approach, and has exceptional attention to detail. The role involves assisting the Mental Health Hospital Administrator in planning, coordinating, and directing activities of a large mental health treatment facility, specifically managing the Recovery Services division, and providing 24/7 Administrator On-Call coverage on a rotational basis.
