About The Position

SUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and operating all equipment by performing the following duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, other duties assigned. 1. Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs. 2. Computes amounts of in-process stock and line supplies required for operations, based on production schedule, and requisitions material from storage area. 3. Interprets specifications and job orders to worker and assigns duties. 4. Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met. 5. Inspects parts and products to verify conformance to specifications. 6. Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to ensure products meet standards. 7. Establishes or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. 8. Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. 9. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. 10. Create work instructions and carryout instructions ensuring that quality, safety, and environmental requirements are met. 11. Supports and participates in continual improvement projects for Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS). 12. Implement and enforce EHS programs and policies. 13. Implement corrective actions to address non-conformities identified in safety audits. Monitor and report corrective action progress to EHS. 14. Associates as part of their accountability to monitor controls effectively to meet requirements, and to report to department management as to compliance with these requirements. 15. Report all major issues that affect other departments to the Plant Manager. 16. Communicate well both written and verbal. 17. Supervise maintaining 5S in the department and assist throughout the entire plant. Supervisory Responsibilities: Help on directly supervises employees in the Manufacturing Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigned, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Communication- Must be able to report any and all issues concerning lines or product with members of upper management. Must take an active role and participate in meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, business journals or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as: probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Know all potential work and environmental hazards.
  • PPE Requirements: Safety glasses and any other required PPE in accordance with the SWI for the jobs you may be doing.
  • Must be willing to attend training course to obtain OSHA 10-Hour General Industry safety certification.
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit and talk and hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.

Nice To Haves

  • The preferred background would include a bachelor’s degree in business or technology related field with 1-3 years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
