This position is accountable for preparing and reviewing studies related to highway drainage improvements.Essential Functions Prepares hydraulic reports and analyses to ensure that they are accurate, neat, complete and in compliance with the Bureau of Design and Environment’s (BDE) Manual and Drainage Manuals and Policies. Reviews hydraulic calculations for highway access permits. Handles documentation of the hydraulic procedures and key decisions made in report preparation needed to help keep bridge and related files up to date. Performs field inspections to ensure that the information for report and plan preparation is accurate and completed on a timely basis. Keeps informed of current departmental and district policies and procedures to ensure projects and reports are compliant with current policies and procedures. Identifies scheduling requirements to complete work in a timely fashion. Coordinates work with others, both inside and outside of Program Development, while keeping the Hydraulics Engineer aware of work issues. Assists with the review of work completed by other hydraulics staff members Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees. Performs other duties as assigned.
