About The Position

Do you love sharing your HVAC knowledge and helping others to succeed? We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Assistant HVAC Instructor with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on industry experience in residential construction to train and mentor the next generation of technicians. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of HVAC systems, codes, and safety practices, along with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to students of varying skill levels. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as patience and professionalism. EPA and NATE certifications, basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams), and being bilingual are all pluses. Prior teaching or training experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on HVAC experience (residential construction required)
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, installation, and safety practices
  • Working knowledge of HVAC codes and current industry standards
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students and staff
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly

Nice To Haves

  • EPA Certification
  • NATE Certification
  • Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish strongly preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Instructor in all areas of the HVAC program
  • Enforce company safety rules and procedures at all times
  • Manage classroom and lab environments to support learning and accountability
  • Deliver engaging instruction that is accurate and aligned with current codes
  • Demonstrate proper tools, techniques, and safe work practices
  • Create, update, and organize learning materials and classroom resources
  • Evaluate student progress through testing, skills demonstrations, and participation
  • Support and motivate students while maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to help students succeed professionally
