About The Position

LSSI is hiring a full-time Assistant Housing Manager. Under supervision of the Building Manager, assists with management of the daily operations of two senior apartment buildings serving older adults and/or disable persons, who meet the residency requirements of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. 1730 S. Requirements

  • Associates degree with one (1) to two (2) years of management/supervisory experience required.
  • Or high school diploma or equivalent with three (3) to five (5) years of management/supervisory experience required.
  • Must possess the Certified Occupancy Specialist Designation (COS) or willingness to obtain within two (2) years of hire.
  • Minimum Leasing License or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum number of years management/supervisory experience is dependent on education level.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow instructions, perform assigned tasks, and maintain appropriate work pace.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibilities of the Manager when the Manager is absent.
  • Responsible for recertification of all residents, including annual apartment inspections, meeting REAC requirements.
  • Assist with rent collection, reporting functions, apartment leasing, marketing, and following policies and procedures established by HUD and LSSI.
  • Ensure necessary reports, including but not limited to re-certifications and vacancy loss claims, are submitted accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.
