The Assistant Housekeeping Manager assists the Director of Housekeeping in managing all aspects of the department inclusive of all public areas and laundry facility; maintaining the highest standard of cleanliness in all guestrooms and public areas; recommending and implementing procedural changes; and managing the department. Must be hospitality-oriented, able to work well in stressful and high-pressure situations. Must be a team player and enjoy working on and with teams of people. Ability to acquire and maintain relationships e.g., team members and guests. Excellent work ethic, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 30 lbs. Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop and reach to assist other team members, i.e., room attendants and housemen to complete their individual tasks if situation demands. Excellent verbal and written English skills. Must be computer-literate in Word and Excel and have knowledge of a hotel rooms management system, i.e. Alice, Opera Cloud or other. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
