About The Position

This position primarily focuses on managing the veterinary technician staff with responsibilities that include directing work flow on the floor, cultivating an engaging work environment, and maintaining our strong hospital culture. The role involves working cohesively with hospital management and medical teams to aid in the progression of the hospital, assisting in the educational development of technicians, conducting staff meetings, and providing opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience. Additionally, the position includes mentoring technicians, managing medical supplies and inventory, overseeing controlled substances, and maintaining medical equipment. The role requires resolving conflicts professionally, refining and implementing protocols, and ensuring compliance with VCA policies and guidelines. As a leader, you will model high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care, working alongside veterinarians and the hospital manager to foster a winning environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of clinical experience
• Team leadership experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to make decisions and delegate responsibility
• Professional comportment and appearance
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly attitude
• Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
