VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is expanding its leadership team and is seeking an Assistant Hospital Manager! VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is open 24/7, 365 days a year, and provides a wide range of specialty, critical care, emergency service, and primary care. We offer a team approach to veterinary medicine where specialists work together to provide the most advanced care possible for every patient utilizing the newest diagnostic equipment and therapeutic techniques. Schedule: Full-time opportunity, 5 x 8-hour shifts. Compensation: $ 55,000 - $65,000/ yearly Key Responsibilities: The Assistant Hospital Manager supports the Hospital Manager in the daily operations of the veterinary hospital to ensure efficient workflows, high-quality patient care, and an exceptional client experience. This role assists the Hospital Manager as directed across Specialty, ER and General Practice departments, helping lead hospital teams, support operational and financial processes, and maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming facility. The Assistant Hospital Manager collaborates closely with the Hospital Manager, Medical Director, department supervisors, and field leadership partners to uphold hospital standards, achieve operational goal and performs additional duties as needed to support hospital operations and management. Assist the Hospital Manager in leading veterinary, technical, client service, and administrative teams across Specialty, ER, and General Practice departments, as directed. Support department supervisors with workflow coordination, communication, and operational consistency. Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance development of hospital team members. Help maintain smooth day-to-day hospital operations and proactively address operational challenges. Serve as a resource to team members by reinforcing hospital standards, expectations, and culture. Support client service initiatives and programs, including CareClub operations, member communication, issue resolution, and compliance. Monitor client service trends and collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements that enhance the overall client experience. Partner with Medical Director and department leaders to ensure alignment between medical operations, specialty services, and client-facing functions. Assist with hospital financial operations, including accounts receivable, chargebacks, daily deposits, and cash reconciliation. Process and oversee Care Credit transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Monitor discounts for appropriate use and documentation. Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and preparing routine reports to support revenue goals and operational decision-making. Oversee housekeeping services, including scheduling, task execution, and quality control. Ensure the hospital environment remains clean, organized, safe, and welcoming for clients, patients, and team members. Support facility-related needs and coordinate with vendors as directed by the Hospital Manager. Assist in implementing hospital policies, procedures, and operational standards across all departments. Maintain internal documentation, logs, and compliance records. Support inventory management and supply initiatives as needed. Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and company compliance requirements.
