Reporting to the Director of the Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program, the Assistant Honors Program Director will play a key role in supporting program goals, student success, and faculty engagement. This position is central to advancing Spelman's commitment to academic excellence, interdisciplinary learning, and student preparation for prestigious awards and graduate studies. The Assistant Honors Program Director will support program strategy, curriculum development, and mentorship, ensuring the program's alignment with Spelman's strategic priorities and the broader mission of the college. The role involves advising students on program requirements, offering guidance on graduate and professional school applications, and coordinating with Honors Program Alumnae. This position also requires travel to select conferences and events. The Assistant Honors Program Director must possess strong research and writing skills, experience in honors education and advising, and a background in supporting competitive scholarship preparation. The role also includes teaching one class per semester, serving as an advisor for the Honors Program Student Association, and assisting in the selection process for incoming honors students.
