ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: The Assistant Home Supervisor provides daily living support as defined by a client's Individual Service Plan (ISP) and assists the, in increasing independence and social integration. In addition, the assist the Home Supervisor with the supervision of the home. Environmental Demands Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds. Must be able to implement PBS-CI procedures. Work Environment: Work is performed both in an office setting and residential home environment. Available to work a flexible schedule to include weekday evenings and weekends. Safety risks include potential violence of client crisis. Duties include: Assist Home Supervisor in orienting new Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) using the Home Orientation Checklist and Client Profile as assigned. Provide ongoing mentoring for DSP's to include feedback on performance & clarification of procedures. Assist Home Supervisor in providing input at home staff meetings. Is on call two days per week to answer questions and assist with open shifts. Helps with grocery shopping while adhering to budget Has access to client funds & assists in overseeing for accuracy. Must complete Medication Management and assist Home Supervisor in managing the clients' medications. Assist in running medical appointments for clients and completing required documentation Has the authority to address performance issues and corrective actions of the DSP's with the approval from the Home Supervisor. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Minimum qualifications: Understands the special needs of residents with disabilities. Ability to supervise staff providing residential services for program consistency, health and safety, and client progress. Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 6 points. Ability to lead, coach, mentor and train assigned staff. Knowledge of the team process, individual program planning, and coordinating identified service needs for the resident. Skills in effective oral and written communication. Skills in negotiating and constructively resolving personnel conflicts. Ability to organize and prioritize the activities of assigned homes to ensure quality service provision for the clients. Skills in planning, scheduling, and maintaining budgetary constraints. Computer skills. Education and Other Qualifications Must have a High School Diploma or a G.E.D Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 6 points. Prior experience in the field of providing services to individuals with disabilities is preferred.
