The role involves assisting the Healthcare Administrator in leading the day-to-day operations of a skilled nursing facility, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and providing high-quality resident care.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, a Therapy Discipline or other health care-related degree.
  • Mid-level management experience.
  • Must comply with state approved Administrator-In-Training (AIT) requirements.
  • Must apply and be accepted in a state approved AIT program within 12 to 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Healthcare Administrator in leading the day-to-day operations of a skilled nursing facility.
  • Provides leadership to ensure care standards are met and quality resident care is provided.
  • Ensures residents receive adequate care and treatment including ADLs, showers, treatments, medication management, meal service, and individualized care.
  • Supervises department directors to ensure competency and compliance of manager duties.
  • Participates in the recruitment of personnel by engaging in the interview process.
  • Delegates operational responsibilities to staff personnel as necessary.
  • Reviews community policies and procedures for compliance with regulations.
  • Assists in developing and implementing plans of action to correct quality deficiencies.
  • Performs regular rounds and inspections of the community.
  • Participates in facility surveys and develops plans of correction for deficiencies.
  • Maintains professional relationships with community personnel, residents, and family members.
  • Engages in positive community relations.
  • Serves on various community committees and attends meetings.
