Lifesteps is hiring Part-Time Child Care Staff to assist at the daycare and preschool in Butler, PA. Position Summary: Lifesteps Childcare Center located in Butler, PA is currently seeking part-time Teacher Aides or Assistant Group Supervisors to work with infants and toddlers at the daycare. Child care staff ensure the health and safety of infants, and perform duties such as changing and feeding the babies, entertain and educate infants by reading to, playing with and nurturing them. Assistants in the toddler rooms plan, supervise children, and implement a structured learning environment that allows young children to explore their interests. Reading to and play with toddlers is essential to their development. We also introduce social skills such as manners and help young children learn through creative group activities, outside play, and crafts. Experience with special needs children is preferred, but not required. The positions offer a daylight, flexible schedule. Monday through Friday. No Nights, No Weekends, No Holidays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and one of the following:
  • 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field.
  • 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field and 1250 hours of work experience related to the care and development of children.
  • 2 years of work experience related to the care and development of children. Can be paid or unpaid. Items such as summer camp, church nursery, babysitting, etc.
  • Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field
  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services field
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
  • Experience with special needs children
