As an Assistant Grocery Manager at Randalls Food Markets, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a vibrant and customer-focused shopping environment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that customers receive fast and friendly service, fostering an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness. You will assist customers by making product suggestions and engaging in suggestive selling techniques, both in-store and over the phone. In the absence of the Store Director, you will be responsible for total store operations, which includes planning daily operations, monitoring production processes, and ensuring profitability according to company procedures. You will also be tasked with building grocery displays, rotating products, and discarding outdated or spoiled items to maintain cleanliness and organization within the department. Implementing effective promotional and seasonal displays will be part of your duties, as well as coordinating grocery sales promotions. Ensuring that merchandise is correctly priced and displayed, and that shelves are clean and well-maintained, will be essential to your role. You will monitor employee productivity, schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage, and train employees in store policies and procedures. In addition to these responsibilities, you will prepare sales and inventory reports, control inventory levels, and assist with ordering grocery products. You will supervise the processing of reclamation and maintain orderly conditions in the back room and grocery department areas. Your role will also involve ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining proper temperature levels for products, and adhering to retail labeling laws. You will be expected to communicate sales goals and department performance to your team, ensuring that all job duties are performed safely, accurately, and with integrity.
