About The Position

The Assistant Grocery Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring guest satisfaction and operational efficiency within the grocery, frozen, and dairy departments. This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of service, overseeing team performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies in the absence of higher management. The role requires a focus on guest relations, stock management, and team development to foster a productive work environment.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of store experience is necessary.
• Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods (up to 6 hours).
• Ability to bend, lift, and perform all other physical aspects of the job.
• Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.
• Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests upon entering the department.
• Assist with maintaining proper stock levels in grocery, dairy, and frozen departments.
• Support interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance management of grocery department team members.
• Complete and communicate performance evaluations in a timely manner within the department.
• Ensure proper rotation procedures are enforced for inventory management.
• Assist with managing merchandising for dairy, frozen, and grocery products.
• Order seasonal merchandise and maintain records of movement.
• Coordinate and maintain displays and quantity purchases effectively.
• Assist with grocery and dairy/frozen ad estimates and purchasing.
• Coordinate with grocery DSD partners on displays and buy-ins.
• Assist with backroom organization, safety, and stock levels, including frozen and dairy vaults.
• Control and monitor store assets, ensuring policies are implemented for asset control.
• Perform other duties as requested by upper management.
