Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly service.
  • Assist customers by making product suggestions.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom announcements, and direct customer interaction.
  • Answer incoming calls professionally, resolve customer complaints appropriately, and report issues to the Store Director as needed.
  • Responsible for total store operations in the absence of the Store Director.
  • Assist with planning daily operations and monitoring production processes for compliance and profitability.
  • Ensure merchandise is correctly priced, properly displayed, and shelves are clean and well maintained.
  • Follow and uphold all departmental standards and requirements.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation in all work areas, coolers, equipment, and displays.
  • Build grocery displays; rotate stock and remove outdated or spoiled product.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and department environment.
  • Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays; assist with coordinating grocery sales promotions.
  • Ensure proper code‑dating compliance for all products.
  • Control shrink, manage cost, and maintain in‑stock conditions throughout department areas and back room.
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports; complete physical inventory every 6 months.
  • Control inventory for quality, freshness, and adequate quantities based on division directives.
  • Assist with ordering Grocery products and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Supervise reclamation processes and ensure organized storage areas.
  • Perform receiving duties, including: Breaking down loads Verifying invoices Inspecting product quality Reporting shortages Stocking and rotating product
  • Follow temperature, storage, and proper packaging guidelines.
  • Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records.
  • Use and operate equipment including pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machines.
  • Implement correct product preparation and handling techniques.
  • Ensure emergency procedures are followed in the event of equipment or software malfunctions.
  • Operate computer software and electronic ordering systems for product ordering.
  • Possess working knowledge of all duties performed by store and department employees, including Opening/Closing, Dairy, and Frozen.
  • Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees.
  • Monitor employee productivity and performance.
  • Train employees in store policies, sales techniques, and record‑keeping procedures.
  • Communicate sales goals, department performance, and sales opportunities to staff.
  • May attend and participate in sales meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with company grooming standards, dress code, and all workplace safety rules.
  • Maintain compliance with retail labeling laws, federal/state regulations, company policies, and code‑dating standards.
  • Ensure proper product temperature levels are maintained.
  • Safely and accurately perform all job duties with honesty and integrity.
  • Maintain all required logs, daily sheets, sales/labor reports, and documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support successful department and store operations.
