About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom announcements, and one-on-one interactions. Answer incoming calls and resolve customer complaints; escalate to Store Director when necessary. Store Operations Responsible for total store operations in the absence of the Store Director (see Store Director job description). Assist with planning daily operations and monitoring production processes for compliance and profitability. Ensure merchandise is correctly priced, displayed, and shelves are clean and properly maintained. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays; assist with coordinating grocery sales promotions. Build grocery displays, rotate stock, and discard outdated or spoiled products. Maintain cleanliness of work area and department. Staffing & Training Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees on store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures. Monitor employee productivity and evaluate performance. May schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels. Possess specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening/closing procedures, dairy, and frozen. Inventory & Compliance Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 6 months. Control inventory to maintain product quantity, quality, and freshness per division directives. Stock and rotate products; maintain inventory levels according to division guidelines. Assist with ordering grocery products and maintaining inventory levels. Supervise reclamation processing and maintain orderly, in-stock conditions in backroom and grocery areas. Control shrink and costs. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Equipment & Safety Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate related equipment, including: Pallet jack Hand truck Scissors, knives, safety cutters Sterilox machine
