About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom announcements, and one-on-one interactions. Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and report to Store Director as needed. Store Operations Assume responsibility for total store operations in the absence of the Store Director (see Store Director job description). Assist with planning daily operations and monitoring production processes for compliance and profitability. Build grocery displays, rotate stock, and discard outdated or spoiled products. Ensure cleanliness of work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays; assist with coordinating grocery sales promotions. Ensure merchandise is correctly priced, displayed, and shelves are clean and properly maintained. Follow and maintain department standards and requirements. Staff Management Monitor employee productivity. Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels (as needed). Possess knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening/closing, Dairy, and Frozen. Supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees in store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures. Compliance & Standards Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Inventory & Financial Control Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 6 months. Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness. Maintain inventory levels according to division directives; stock and rotate products. Assist with ordering grocery products and maintaining inventory levels per Division guidelines. Supervise reclamation processing and maintain orderly, in-stock conditions in backroom and grocery areas. Control shrink and costs. Equipment & Receiving Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine. Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders using invoices, inspect quality, report shortages, stock and rotate product
