About The Position

We’re Hiring: Outside Assistant Golf Professional (AKA the MVP of the Golf Experience) Do you love being outdoors, creating memorable guest experiences, and keeping everything running smoothly—sometimes before anyone even realizes something could go wrong? We’re looking for an Outside Assistant Professional who brings energy, professionalism, and hospitality to everything they do—from the bag drop to the last cart returned for the night. Seasonal: May-Oct (approximately) Hours: 40+ hours a week, 4-5 shifts a week Job Summary: Responsible for assisting the Outside Operations Manager / Lead Assistant Professionals with all outside operations, Golf House procedures, and caddie duties. The Outside Assistant Professional is responsible for effectively completing the responsibilities and job duties outlined below while maintaining constant communication with leadership regarding progress and setbacks. These duties are all subject to revisions based on operational demands.

  • Work long and perhaps erratic hours which include overtime, split-shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • High school diploma or in the process of completion
  • Past experience with a proven record of high-level work ethic, interaction skills, energy & enthusiasm for all tasks taken on.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Regular movement including but not limited to standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, crouching, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
  • Constant use of hands and fingers.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the golf course.
  • Must be able to drive and operate a vehicle and/or golf cart.
  • Must be able to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and able to constantly lift, carry, pull, or push up to 75 pounds and to use team lift on any object more than 75 pounds.
  • May be required work in excessive heat and cold in association with outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing Golf House procedures – record guest & cart fees, oversee accurate billing, maintain accurate daily play records, sell merchandise, oversee all club repair & manage club repair supplies (same day service), maintain neat and orderly appearance of all work areas, end of day reports, etc. Resolve any issues swiftly.
  • Track and monitor daily play - Proper greeting, interim, and departure. The club traditionally records more guest rounds than member; it is imperative that all staff members be available, welcoming, supportive and anticipate the needs of guests. Go above and beyond, out of your way to assist.
  • Spread goodwill, happiness and hospitality among members and guests.
  • Ensure the security of all golf equipment in storage.
  • Pick up and drop off golf bags at bag drop.
  • Clean and store clubs for members and guests.
  • Daily set-up and breakdown practice areas.
  • Replenish range balls as needed, pick as needed, anticipate and comply with member and guest needs while using learning center, monitor first tee as needed.
  • Remove rental clubs for use by guests, clean and put away after use.
  • Remove and store golf carts in proper locations at end of day.
  • Clean carts after each use, following the cleaning checklist.
  • Place score cards, tees, towels, pencils, and ice waters on each cart prior to play.
  • When carts break down, notify DOG or Outside Operations Manager of issues.
  • Store, clean and tag member and guest clubs in storage, if so desires.
  • Assist in maintenance and repair of carts when necessary.
  • Perform club repair as needed.
  • Play, interact, and grow relationships with the membership and their guests.
  • Communicate professionally, efficiently and personably with the Club staff to assist in the coordination of Club activities through the Club. This includes but is not limited to prompt billing of all club activities.
  • Communicate efficiently and personably with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, department heads and any other relevant position to ensure that special events, tournaments, and specific needs are met in every department. Maintain consistency of service by being aware of, prepared for all course events, large parties and reservations that may affect Club operations.
  • Communicate efficiently and personably with guests and members, establishing relationships that can assist in all visits being unique and tailored to the individual. This includes becoming familiar with preferences such as amenities, services, activities, and other information.
  • Follows and practices Company standards of safety, sanitation, and cleanliness. Complies and reports any concerns with food preparation, food storage, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Promptly reports member concerns, injuries, accidents, and other high-risk issues to management.
  • Promptly reports employee and personal or “self” concerns, injuries, accidents, and other high-risk issues to management.
  • Follows Company control procedures in to safeguard all assets including charging member accounts.
  • Follows all corporate standards when/if working in private residences and/or off-site.
  • Participates in department meetings as well as mandatory Company meetings.
  • If allowed by law, responsible for alerting and receiving permission from management before taking required or allowed breaks.
  • Accountable for reporting accurate payroll records through clock-in/clock-out procedures.
  • Monitors personal payroll hours and notifies management when hours approach thresholds that necessitate overtime compensation.
  • Other ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done.
