JOB SUMMARY: As a member of the Ponte Vedra Management team, the Assistant Golf Professional will work directly with the Head Golf Pro and Director of Golf to develop and implement a comprehensive golf operational annual plan for the Member Golf Services. This position will oversee the golf operation and services including the golf shop, practice facility, golf services area and golf car operation including supervision of the Assistant Golf Professional(s), golf shop staff and outside service team. The position will promote exceptional member services.

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree required.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively staff.
  • 5 years of golf experience .
  • Must be a member of the PGA of America or be working towards membership.
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • Superb overall working knowledge of golf course operations.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, be able to drive a motor vehicle, capable of lifting golf bags weighing up to 40 pounds and to the height of 4 feet and be able to play the game of golf.
  • Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
  • Service and customer focused attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the golf operations and services ensuring exceptional guest service, high standards and safety guidelines are met.
  • Manage golf shop operation policies, procedures, controls and fee structures to ensure safekeeping of assets, inventory and resources.
  • Schedule and manage staffing and payroll adhering to budget guidelines.
  • Act as role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees.
  • Manage the Assistant Golf Professional(s) in coordinating all golf events.
  • Act as an ambassador to the members, seeking feedback and meeting needs.
  • Partner with Director of Golf and Golf Associations to develop yearly schedule of golf events.
  • Coordinate with the F&B Director for events and functions.
  • Enforce PGA rules and regulations governing the course.
  • Maintain and promote a positive and professional image within the community.
  • Maintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations.
  • Play golf with members and prospective members of all skill levels.
  • Assists the clubhouse management team as needed.
  • Perform and follow up on any other duties as assigned by the Director of Golf and Head Pro.
