About The Position

The Assistant Golf Professional supports the overall golf operations by delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with daily play management, providing golf instruction, and contributing to the overall member and guest experience. This role plays a key part in fostering a welcoming environment, maintaining operational efficiency, and upholding the standards of the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor of Arts in golf course management preferred.
  • Must be a registered PGA Apprentice or PGA Member.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Two years previous golf course operations experience required.
  • Two years previous customer service experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently operate Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required.
  • Basic cashiering skills and at least six months experience with a computerized POS system required.
  • Must guide, coach, and able to lead a team.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and strong written communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills and strong presentation skills required.
  • Basic problem solving skills required.
  • Must be able to follow policies and procedure with minimal supervisory input.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the theory of progressive discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous interviewing and hiring experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage conflict and influence outcomes preferred.
  • Strong presentation skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable in all events, tournaments, and programs Circling Raven has to offer so as to be able to communicate details with Guests.
  • Assist in organizing and conducting golf trade shows to promote the golf course and the casino as assigned.
  • Assist with controlling and managing on the course play, concerns, guest check in, and fee collection.
  • Assist with supervision of outside service personnel and retail sales associates under the direction of the Head Golf Professional.
  • Monitor all aspects of golf course operations including daily play, all forms of golf reservations, and proper functioning of sales systems. Maintain cash system controls and resolve issues as directed by auditing.
  • Ensure golf course rules and regulations regarding course use are being followed.
  • Manage rental club inventory.
  • Assist with merchandise inventory.
  • Support tournament and event recruiting, organizing, and administration. Including serving as point person specific mini groups, tournaments, and events. Administrative set up, running, and scoring of golf tournaments.
  • Communicating with responsible party and confirming their event.
  • Assist with marketing and promoting customer retention programs and new customer recruitment.
  • PGM Level 1- participate in leading juniors’ clinics, observe private lessons.
  • PGM Level 2- lead golf academy clinics, teach supervised private lessons, help establish programs to teach and promote the game of golf to guests and employees.
  • PGM Level 3- create, organize, and lead golf academy programs, teach unsupervised private lessons.
  • Provide golf instruction and clinics consistent with generally accepted methods of instruction.
  • Stay current with all PGA PGM timeline requirements.
  • Participate in the IEPGA Pro-Am series, inviting course and casino customers and employees whenever possible.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
