About The Position
The Assistant Golf Professional plays a crucial role in supporting the Head Golf Professional in managing the daily operations of the golf facility. This position is centered around providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the satisfaction of all members. The Assistant Golf Professional is expected to maintain a professional demeanor and interact positively with members and staff at all levels. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to confidentiality, as well as the ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. The Assistant Golf Professional must also adhere to strict appearance standards and demonstrate a strong service-oriented attitude. In addition to customer service, the Assistant Golf Professional will assist with various operational tasks, including golfer check-in, fee collection, and managing play. They will also be involved in tournament operations, including planning, promotion, course setup, scoring, and prize distribution. The role includes coordinating the First Tee Program and providing individual junior lessons and group clinics. The Assistant Golf Professional will also assist in managing the cart service staff and the golf car operation, as well as inventory control of merchandise. The position requires a fundamental knowledge of golf, including the rules of the game and facility operations. The Assistant Golf Professional is expected to act as a role model for other employees, demonstrating the work ethic and behavior expected within the organization. Strong organizational and planning skills are essential, along with a self-motivated attitude focused on service and member satisfaction. The Assistant Golf Professional will also be responsible for maintaining their PGA membership in good standing and staying current with teaching innovations and marketing trends.
