The Assistant Golf Professional plays a crucial role in the golf department, assisting the Head Golf Professional in various operational aspects. This position is essential for ensuring that the golf department runs smoothly and efficiently, providing exceptional service to members and guests. The Assistant Golf Professional will be responsible for managing inventory, which includes inputting, receiving, pricing, and creating open-to-buy plans for hard goods. Additionally, the role involves invoicing and conducting monthly physical inventories to maintain accurate stock levels. In this position, the Assistant Golf Professional will also assist in updating the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the golf department, ensuring that all staff are trained and informed about the latest policies and procedures. Supervising outside staff, including starters, course monitors, and bag room attendants, is another key responsibility. The Assistant Golf Professional will assist in training new golf personnel, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to provide excellent service. The role also includes administrative tasks such as inputting and approving payroll and gratuities for the golf staff, making tee time reservations for members, and answering phones to assist members with their golf-related needs. The Assistant Golf Professional will instruct members on golf techniques and equipment usage, encouraging them to upgrade their equipment as necessary. When scheduling permits, the Assistant Golf Professional will have the opportunity to play golf with members, fostering relationships and enhancing the member experience. Additionally, the Assistant Golf Professional will assist the Tournament Director in organizing, promoting, and managing various events and clinics for men, ladies, and juniors. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support the overall operations of the golf department.
