About The Position

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent supervises employees in all phases of golf course maintenance, including the maintenance of all tees, fairways, greens, roughs, and peripheral golf course areas. This role manages daily course preparations for both member/guest and tournament play, assists in personnel management, evaluation, employee safety, and personnel discipline, and is often responsible for daily work scheduling based on professional interpretation. The position also involves instructing and training employees on the proper operation and care of all equipment, supervising pesticide applications, and overseeing repairs and maintenance regarding irrigation systems and pump stations.

Requirements

  • 2 or 4 year degree or professional degree equivalent in turf management, plant science or other similar agriculturally related degree/field of study.
  • Minimum of three seasons/years of golf maintenance experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience necessary.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Colorado pesticide applicators license.
  • Basic computer operation - Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred.
  • English necessary - Any Spanish is helpful but not required.

  • Pesticide/fertilizer application, calibration and handling responsibilities.
  • Irrigation scheduling, troubleshooting and repair work.

  • Other duties as assigned.
