About The Position

Seaman USD #345 has an opening for a Assistant Girls Swim Coach for the 2026-27 school year. This position is responsible for coaching athletes in the sport of swimming and requires development of student-athletes to have appreciation of the sport. This girls postition runs from Feb of '27 to May '27 The candidate must have coaching experience and/or have competed in swimming.

Responsibilities

• Develops positive relationships with athletes that help establish a winning culture.
• Assist in organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages student participation.
• Assesses skills and assigns team positions during practice and competition.
• Helps develop a practice schedule that provides individual and team development.
• Works with the head coach and athletic director in scheduling for practices and competition.
• Coaches athletes regarding the rules, regulations and techniques of the sport.
• Provides instructions during practices & meets to determine the needs for improvement.
• Sets high expectations for behavior and provides supervision of student-athletes.
• Helps monitor the academic performance to ensure that eligibility requirements are met.
• Follows established procedures in the event of an injury.
• Assist in conferences with parents regarding the performance of student performance.
• Follows KSHSAA regulations governing the program and athletic department.
• Models sportsmanlike behavior toward athletes, officials and spectators.
• Follows established procedures for supplies, equipment & uniforms.
• Participates in special activities to include parent meeting, banquets, award nights, etc.
• Models nondiscriminatory behavior in all activities related to Seaman USD #345.
