About The Position

The position provides managerial and administrative leadership to operate one franchise-owned restaurant in the Lake Elsinore area under the direction of the General Manager. This is the 2nd person in charge reporting to the General Manager and, when the General Manager is absent, is the top manager present in the designated restaurant and is accountable for the restaurant and operations at those times. This person directs the work of team members, both managers and crew. The Assistant General Manager exercises discretion and independent judgment in performing his or her duties in alignment with the scope of authority provided by General Manager.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team in a fast-paced managed environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor team members.
  • Must possess strong business acumen and be independently motivated.
  • Achievement oriented with strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; English language proficiency; ability to communicate in a second language is a plus.
  • 1-3 years customer service management experience or US military service.
  • Ability to work full time with variable hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the restaurant operations from production to guest service areas alongside the General Manager.
  • Assist the General Manager to ensure the restaurant meets performance expectations.
  • Coach and role model McDonald's guest and service experience behaviors, ensuring consistency in service delivery.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training managers and crew.
  • Assess the work of crew and provide performance feedback and evaluations.
  • Prepare recommendations to support hiring and employee status changes such as promotions or terminations.
  • Conduct performance reviews for all crew members and make hiring decisions in special situations approved by the General Manager.
  • Foster an environment that encourages employee development, learning, and teamwork.
  • Analyze restaurant labor and crew capability needs; prepare and set weekly schedules for all crew members.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet operating needs and budget; prepare inventory forecasts and ordering recommendations.
