About The Position

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing day to day operations of a polished casual, high volume, family focused restaurant with an active events and private dining business. This role is hands on, guest facing, and leadership driven, with a strong emphasis on service execution, team development, operational systems, and financial awareness. The AGM is expected to lead confidently during high volume services, support event execution, and utilize operational systems such as Toast POS, Sling scheduling, and Restaurant365 to ensure consistency, accountability, and profitability. In the absence of the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager assumes full operational responsibility for the restaurant.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of restaurant management experience in a high volume environment.
  • Proven success leading teams in a polished casual or family style restaurant concept.
  • Strong working knowledge of Toast POS, Sling scheduling, and Restaurant365.
  • Experience supporting events, private dining, or large party execution.
  • Ability to lead confidently during peak volume and fast paced service periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in event driven or community focused restaurant operations.
  • Strong understanding of front of house systems, service recovery, and guest engagement.
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Lead active floor management during high volume lunch, dinner, and event services.
  • Maintain visible, professional leadership presence on the floor, supporting host, bar, and dining room flow.
  • Ensure consistent hospitality standards, speed of service, and guest satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns in real time with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Support execution of private dining and events, including timing, staffing coordination, and guest communication.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of front of house leadership and hourly team members.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate team members through daily feedback and structured follow up.
  • Lead pre shift meetings to reinforce service standards, menu knowledge, upselling initiatives, and event details.
  • Support performance management and documentation in alignment with company policies and HR guidance.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and team oriented work culture.
  • Utilize Toast POS for daily operations, reporting, and service execution.
  • Use Sling scheduling to support labor planning, coverage needs, and cost awareness.
  • Work within Restaurant365 to support inventory, purchasing, labor tracking, and operational reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures across service, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Maintain strong communication and coordination between front of house and back of house teams.
  • Support labor efficiency through thoughtful scheduling and shift management.
  • Assist with inventory controls, ordering accuracy, and cost management using Restaurant365.
  • Follow company cash handling, comp, void, and deposit procedures.
  • Support daily, weekly, and monthly operational reporting as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
  • Enforce company policies and applicable wage and hour regulations.
  • Identify and escalate maintenance, safety, or compliance concerns promptly.
