About The Position

It is the primary responsibility of the Assistant General Manager to assist the General Manager with oversight of all aspects of the property and associates in order to ensure maximum occupancy, resident and associate satisfaction, operational compliance and operational efficiency, as well as safety and security with the goal of bottom-line profits. The Assistant General Manager will oversee assigned departments. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager with the day-to-day operations of the community including occupancy and financial performance as well as the planning, development, implementation, evaluation and improvement of all operational standards. In the General Manager’s absence, the Assistant General Manager shall report to the Vice President of Operations. The Assistant General Manager is to ensure accurate, timely, and professional service to all residents and must uphold the InspÄ«r philosophy and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience in human services management, or nursing home management
  • Must possess 7-10 years of progressive experience in human services management and/or senior living management
  • Must have proven leadership and management skills
  • Experience working with seniors including those with memory care needs
  • Excellent customer service and public relations skills

  • Pre-leasing and new property pre-opening experience are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, state, federal, regulatory, and/or accrediting body standards
  • Shall work closely with the General Manager to ensure duties are completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensures that the community is prepared for inspection by regulatory agencies through regular auditing and maintenance of community policies and procedures
  • Oversees departmental budgets and provides guidance to department leaders on how to meet budgetary guidelines
  • Maintains monthly financials and provides explanation for variances while driving strong expenditure control
  • Monitor move-in and move-out activity through Yardi on a timely basis
  • Responsible for review of resident bills
  • Responsible for resident file maintenance
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the components of an accrual basis financial statement
  • Analyzes variances in departmental payroll vs. budget
  • Analyzes revenue by product type
  • Assists General Manager with analyzing monthly financials and make recommendations for improvement
  • Work closely with General Manager, Department Heads, and HR Coordinator to manage usage of overtime
  • Functions as sales leader to achieve occupancy goals and targets
  • Direct programs for training and development of the department leaders so that all areas of the operation are supervised properly and are geared to perform to the best advantage
  • Maintains open communication and responds to all residents, guests, associates, and department leaders’ correspondence in a timely manner
