We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support hotel operations and partner closely with the General Manager of the Rochester Airport Marriott. What You'll Do: Support the General Manager in the daily operation of all hotel departments Assign duties to department heads and monitor performance to ensure adherence to policies and SOPs Train, coach, and develop staff and department leaders Act as a primary point of contact for guest concerns, service recovery, and escalations Represent the hotel in the community, among industry partners, and with trade associations Monitor guest feedback through TripAdvisor, OTA channels, GSTS, and RSTS surveys Participate in hiring decisions, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes Maintain accurate operational records including cash flow sheets, A/R reports, and billing files Conduct daily property walkthroughs and ensure physical spaces meet brand and company standards Ensure compliance with all SOPs, safety regulations, and service standards Support financial performance by assisting with budgeting, forecasting, wage surveys, and business planning Monitor maintenance issues, FF&E conditions, and preventive maintenance schedules Ensure all required supplies and par levels are maintained Perform room audits and sudden inspections to uphold brand quality Build strong partnerships with department heads and frontline staff to drive operational efficiency Cover shifts as needed across departments when scheduled by the General Manager Maintain effective communication across all hotel departments Assist with corporate client relations and new business opportunities alongside sales Respond to guest or employee emergencies as needed, including after hours Support ongoing improvement initiatives and audit responses Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or corporate leadership About You: Marriott brand experience is required Previous management experience in a hotel environment Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate, coach, and motivate a team Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities Ability to maintain professionalism, composure, and objectivity under pressure Strong understanding of hotel operations, financial reporting, and service standards Highly flexible, hands-on leader who is willing to support any department as needed Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to build positive relationships with guests, staff, ownership, and the community Willingness to be available as needed for emergencies or urgent guest needs About Us: HMC is recognized for our commitment to: Honesty Professionalism Innovation Flexibility Customer service Delivering measurable results We believe in fostering a culture where team members feel valued, supported, and motivated to excel.
