The Assistant General Manager works in collaboration with operations, corporate support departments, and transportation providers to ensure the most appropriate and cost-effective delivery of transportation services. Will act as an internal liaison in conjunction with the General Manager between departments and Clients to ensure that the location is fully compliant with all contractual requirements. This position is contingent on award of contract and will be located on site at our location in Corpus Christie, TX. Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field required
  • At least 6 years’ experience managing in the Para-Transit and Fixed, Micro Transit industry
  • At least 4 years’ experience managing a union environment
  • At least 3 years’ experience supervising and monitoring the delivery of contractual services
  • Thorough knowledge of ADA, DOT, FTA regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of MTM Transit operations, company policies and guidelines
  • Extensive knowledge of Trapeze transit routing system
  • Extensive analytical and proven data collection methods
  • Exceptional interpretation and problem solving skills
  • Ability to administer difficult conversation and facilitate coaching sessions
  • Ability to schedule, organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Extensive knowledge of budget and cost analysis
  • Ability to evaluate and resolve problems/ and issues in a constructive manner
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Extensive knowledge of how to establish key processes and procedures

  • Prior contract and or project management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily guidance and coaching for direct reports; monitor performance
  • Provide contract oversight and facilitation of Client needs with anticipation of growth
  • Ensure most appropriate and cost effective transportation services are provided
  • Continually analyze program needs and productivity and propose potential adjustments to staffing and resources to ensure cost effectiveness
  • Address any questions / concerns regarding site transit program
  • Maintain general knowledge of contract and awareness of changes
  • Identifying potential risk and develop resolution processes
  • Act as a liaison between MTM Transit and the Client to address any concerns or issues that may arise and do so in a timely manner
  • Continually analyze program needs and productivity and propose potential adjustments to staffing and resources to ensure cost effectiveness
  • Address any questions / concerns regarding site transit program
  • Assist with the oversight of vehicle maintenance program
  • Assist and monitor employee training and development
  • Assist with the continuing development of a relationship with the clientClient to ensure exceptional customer service needs and problem resolution processes are in place
  • Maintain general knowledge of contract and awareness of changes
  • Thorough understanding of MTM Transit policies and employee handbook guidelines
  • Provide education and information to the Client regarding MTM Transit procedures, services available and changes within the Para-Transit industry
  • Maintain a “Safety First” attitude with the Client and personnel
  • Maintain knowledge of local climate needs and issues pertaining to the passenger transportation industry
  • Thorough understanding of ridership policies to ensure smooth transportation services
  • Assist with oversight and maintaining all employee and vehicle files in accordance with FTA and DOT guidelines
  • Assist with the oversight and maintain thorough knowledge of MTM Transit departments and compliance programs within each
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required
