About The Position

We are seeking a passionate and driven Assistant Manager to join our Japanese restaurant team. In this key leadership role, you will support daily operations, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and cultivate a positive and high-performing team environment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and demonstrates a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine and service culture.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or Supervisor in the restaurant industry
  • Experience with POS systems (Toast) and cash handling
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a diverse team
  • Knowledge of inventory control, food safety standards, and compliance regulations
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in casual dining required

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of food service operations, kitchen workflow, and Japanese cuisine preferred
  • Fine dining or hotel background is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Lead, train, and motivate team members to maintain high standards of food quality and customer service
  • Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and minimize waste through effective stock control
  • Ensure consistency and quality in food preparation in alignment with restaurant standards
  • Handle cash and POS transactions accurately (e.g., Toast, Aloha, Micros)
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing staff development
  • Support scheduling, manage floor operations, and resolve guest concerns promptly
  • Monitor labor and operational costs to support budgeting goals
  • Foster a welcoming, team-oriented environment that enhances guest satisfaction
