The Assistant General Manager will help oversee and support the day-to-day operations of our Potomac and Sumner Place locations. An integral part of our studios, the AGM will play a crucial role in driving studio growth, fostering an exceptional client experience, and supporting our community. The position will focus on grassroots marketing, membership relations and maintaining the brand standard. The AGM will also be responsible for teaching at least 12 in-person Pilates classes per week. Based on the needs of the schedule the AGM may have to teach additional classes per week.

Requirements

  • Fitness teaching experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in client relations or social media management is a plus.
  • A genuine passion for fitness and a solid understanding of industry trends.
  • A desire to learn fitness software, analytics, and financial acumen to prepare for a GM role.
  • Ability to work on-site at managed locations within the DMV (District, Maryland, Virginia) area.
  • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule to meet the needs of the community. This includes the availability to work early mornings, late evenings, and/or weekends as needed for class instruction, events, and studio oversight.
  • Employment at RTR depends on successfully completing a background check.
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and support teams for marketing, client relations, and events, as well as the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve studio goals.
  • Excellent communication skills and empathy to foster an exceptional client experience and build strong, long-lasting relationships with members.
  • Skills in grassroots marketing and managing social media to increase community engagement, drive lead generation, and enhance brand awareness.
  • A genuine passion for fitness and a solid understanding of industry trends are essential for connecting with clients and maintaining instructional excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager with sales funnel (Leads ? Intros ? Memberships), identifying conversion gaps and executing localized initiatives to exceed monthly revenue and budget targets.
  • Oversee studio "readiness" by managing inventory for retail and supplies, and ensuring all reformer equipment is maintained to the highest safety and aesthetic standards.
  • Lead by example by teaching 12–16 high-energy, brand-consistent Pilates classes per week.
  • Partner with the GM to conduct regular instructor evaluations and provide actionable feedback, ensuring the "RTR Instruction Standard" is delivered consistently across all sessions.
  • Act as the primary lead for the studio’s communication hubs (email and CRM platforms), ensuring timely, professional, and solution-oriented interactions.
  • Support GM in monitoring churn data and execute "member-save" strategies to re-engage at-risk clients and build long-term brand loyalty.
  • Lead localized grassroots marketing campaigns and manage the studio’s social media presence to increase community engagement, drive lead generation, and enhance brand awareness within the local market.
  • Serve as a champion for RTR’s mission and core values, fostering an inclusive, high-energy environment for both staff and clients while ensuring strict adherence to brand standards and studio culture.

Benefits

  • $48k-52k base salary
  • $40.00/piece class compensation
  • Eligible for monthly bonuses based on studio revenue. While performance varies, typical annual payouts range from $8,000 to $10,000 per year, with the potential to exceed these figures based on growth.
