About The Position

The Assistant General Manager at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen plays a crucial role in fostering a culture that embodies the company's values. This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the restaurant, which includes the selection, development, and performance management of employees. The Assistant General Manager oversees inventory and ordering of food and supplies, optimizes profits, and ensures that guests have a satisfying dining experience. Reporting directly to the Restaurant General Manager, the Assistant General Manager is integral to maintaining the restaurant's operational standards and enhancing customer satisfaction. In terms of financial responsibilities, the Assistant General Manager must adhere to company standards and service levels to drive sales. This includes ensuring that all financial and personnel/payroll-related administrative duties are completed accurately and on time, in accordance with company policies and procedures. The role also emphasizes food safety and planning, where the Assistant General Manager is tasked with maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing and enforcing sanitation standards and complying with health regulations. They are responsible for ensuring consistent high-quality food preparation and service, maintaining a professional restaurant image, and managing inventory to control costs effectively. Guest service is another critical aspect of this role. The Assistant General Manager must ensure positive guest experiences by responding to complaints and taking appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return customers. Operationally, the Assistant General Manager is responsible for creating a safe working environment, managing shifts, and making daily decisions that uphold standards of product quality and cleanliness. They also investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality and service. Personnel management is a key responsibility, where the Assistant General Manager ensures that all employees complete their training and understand job expectations. They provide ongoing feedback, establish performance expectations, and prepare schedules to ensure the restaurant is fully staffed. The Assistant General Manager is also responsible for developing crew members into Shift Leaders and further into Assistant Managers. Accountability is a significant part of this role, as the Assistant General Manager must maintain compliance with all state, local, and federal regulations, as well as company policies. They perform loss prevention audits and keep the Restaurant General Manager informed of all significant issues, taking corrective actions when necessary. The Assistant General Manager is expected to complete job responsibilities in a timely manner while fostering a cooperative and harmonious working climate to maximize employee morale and productivity.
