About The Position

Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to creating quality culinary concepts from scratch. This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, professional golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more. We are seeking an Assistant Concessions General Manager to help lead the team and logistics of our concessions operations at Wake Forest University located in Winston Salem, NC. This position will supervise day-to-day planning and event day execution of concessions areas. The ideal candidate has experience in large-scale concessions operations and is a hands-on leader with a focus on team development.

Requirements

  • Degree in Management, Food & Beverage, Hospitality or related field
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in Food and Beverage Operations and/or high volume concessions – experience in stadiums or special events is strongly preferred.
  • Must live near or be willing to relocate to Winston Salem, NC.

  • Knowledge of concessions and kitchen equipment

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and effectively managing day-to-day duties to ensure that each event is executed flawlessly from start to finish.
  • Football – 7-10 games per year (estimated)
  • Basketball – 35-40 games per year (estimated)
  • Other athletic and special events with varied food and beverage needs Baseball, soccer, tennis, concerts, band competitions, etc.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; food safety; and Proof of the Pudding standards
  • Managing existing and developing leadership team, encouraging growth and mentorship with all managers and hourly staff
  • Assist with the hiring and onboarding process for new employees
  • Organizing frequent meetings and open lines of communication with sales, operations, concessions, and culinary team in preparation for each event.
  • Manage existing relations with 3rd party vendors, ensure all partners are set up for success for service and operations for every event
  • Responsible for setting the precedence that all staff will follow including but not limited to: uniform expectations, customer service policies, uniformity in buffet aesthetics and creating a positive and productive workplace culture
  • Assist with ordering, logistics, and overseeing warehouse inventory.
  • Managing the team that is scheduled to run each event.
  • Leading by example and developing employees to reach their full potential.
  • Attending and executing each event to ensure that it runs smoothly from the set-up to the break-down.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Performs other related duties as necessary
