About The Position

As Assistant General Manager at Michael Mina, you will provide essential support to the General Manager in delivering exceptional leadership for restaurant service team. You will guide the team in achieving operational and financial goals, ensuring each dining experience reflects the innovative spirit of Chef Michael Mina's renowned seafood artistry. In this dynamic role, you will monitor staff performance, manage schedules, and implement initiatives from property Food & Beverage leadership—all while fostering an environment that emphasizes the high standards of service synonymous with our venue. Your leadership will help maintain the elegance of Michael Mina, where every detail, from tableside preparations to expertly crafted wine pairings and craft cocktails, contributes to unforgettable guest journeys. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience as a manager in a fine-dining restaurant
  • Previous experience managing employees under a collective bargaining agreement

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily restaurant operations, fiscal budgets, labor productivity, scheduling, inventory control, guest service standards, and execution of marketing strategies to produce short-term profitability.
  • Execute on the restaurant’s business plan and assist General Manager with developing and executing tactics to achieve goals and targets.
  • Assist General Manager with managing Human Resources responsibilities for Restaurant to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback (coaching and counseling), recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning process that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; adherence to the company’s status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies, legal requirements, employment law, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Interacts with guests frequently to ensure satisfaction and enjoyment of dining experience.
  • Reacts to any guest complaints and takes any appropriate action.
  • Manages Restaurant’s guest feedback channels through approved company practices.
  • Work alongside the culinary team to ensure a seamless service experience between kitchen and dining room.
  • Responsible for execution of policies, operating procedures, training programs, directives, menus, rules and regulations for the restaurant staff.
  • Owns restaurant’s execution of F&B and/or company-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Maintain the highest standards of health, sanitation and cleanliness within all areas of Beverage.
  • Responsible for completion of all company compliance training by the restaurant staff.
  • Maintains excellent knowledge of venue’s food & beverage products, menu items and equipment used to perform duties.
