About The Position

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Ruby Tuesday is responsible for the day-to-day management of the restaurant, serving as a key contact for customers and team members. The AGM oversees kitchen and service team activities, ensuring excellent service and a high-quality dining experience. This role requires strong communication and decision-making skills to address customer needs and manage restaurant operations effectively, including sales maximization and adherence to safety and sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Prefer 2 years of hands-on restaurant management experience.
  • ServSafe Certified preferred or able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, supervise and direct all hourly employees including their daily activities and work assignments.
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations and provide coaching and corrective discipline to team members as necessary.
  • Observe kitchen operations and address any issues promptly.
  • Direct work for employees including setting hours and weekly schedules.
  • Drive sales and guest satisfaction; manage food costs, inventory levels, and utility usage.
  • Ensure food quality by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of food products.
  • Execute the CHARM Service Model with every guest interaction.
  • Provide and schedule training for Front of House and Back of House team members.
  • Supervise food and beverage production in accordance with established recipes and procedures.
  • Resolve guest recovery situations using discretion.
  • Follow Operations Playbook for consistent daily operations.
  • Utilize digital manager logbook for communication with the management team.
  • Enforce security measures to maintain safety for employees and guests.
  • Control costs of food, supplies, and liquor expenses; conduct weekly inventory.
  • Manage food handling procedures and enforce compliance among staff.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good repair and manage necessary repairs.
  • Manage processes including line checks, food inventory, and safety procedures.
  • Coach team to ensure food and beverages meet Ruby Tuesday specifications.
  • Maintain valid food safety certificate and secure new certifications as needed.
  • Execute new initiatives including product and menu rollouts, requiring creativity and initiative.
