About The Position

The Chicago Marriott Northwest is urgently seeking an Assistant General Manager (AGM) to oversee various functions within the hotel, ensuring smooth operations and effective leadership. The AGM will be responsible for providing guidance, communication, and coordination among team members to maintain high standards of service and operational efficiency. This role requires a seasoned professional with supervisory experience who can confidently deliver performance feedback, set clear goals, and foster teamwork among staff. The AGM will also be expected to perform duties in the absence of the General Manager, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills while motivating and positively influencing staff, particularly during challenging times. In this position, the AGM will monitor all hotel operations, including the activities of various departments, and will regularly inspect rooms to ensure they meet hotel standards. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, and supervising staff, managing budgets, planning maintenance work, and coordinating events and room bookings. The AGM will also be tasked with motivating employees, promoting teamwork, and ensuring that guests' needs are met effectively. This includes organizing the use of hotel spaces for social events, meetings, and conferences, as well as maintaining good interactions with guests. The AGM will be responsible for monitoring daily and monthly revenue, tracking budgets and expenses, and reviewing financial reports. Upholding the guidelines established by the hotel owner and ensuring compliance with company policies is crucial. The AGM will work closely with the General Manager on project planning and staff management, nurturing positive relationships with staff, delegating tasks, and addressing any issues promptly. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in the hotel industry, with at least one year of experience using Marriott's FSPMS system, and will be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
