Job Duties The ideal candidate will be dedicated attorney with at least three years of experience in either governmental, in house or private practice.  The ideal candidate will have experience working with non-profit institutions and demonstrate working knowledge (commensurate with the candidate’s years of practice) of the Federal anti-kickback statute (and EKRA), its associated regulations and safe harbors, and the Stark law, as well as an understanding of corporate practice prohibitions, HIPAA, antitrust and non-profit governance and operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, as well as exceptional presence and judgment. It is imperative that the successful candidate have the intellect, vision and judgment to contribute across the organization. The individual should thrive in a highly collaborative, collegial but also immediate, results-oriented, and mission-driven culture, and should be comfortable managing numerous projects and competing priorities. Requirements

• 2-5+ years of experience preferred.
• Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited Law School required.
• Admission to New Jersey State and Federal Bar required
• Understands and adheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct and with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software applications.
• Familiarity with implementing and maintaining applications.
• Good organizational, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in English.
• Microsoft Office skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited Law School required.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with healthcare industry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Researches and interprets existing laws and regulations and anticipated changes to laws to guide informed decisions and reduce risk.
• Prepares and reviews various agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
• As needed, represents the organization in litigation, arbitrations, negotiations, and other matters where legal counsel is required.
• May coordinate with outside counsel to address issues requiring specialized legal input
• Understanding of both Federal and State Health Care Laws, including Stark, Anti-Kickback, Codey and HIPAA.
• Management of Paralegal and Clerks.
• Participate and present in multidisciplinary task forces, committees, and projects.
• Continue professional development through reading, participation in seminars and optional training.
• Keep informed on direction and happenings in the healthcare industry and within BNBMC.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization.
