About The Position

As Assistant General Counsel - Intellectual Property at Honeywell, you will have a significant impact on the company's intellectual property strategy and protection. Your legal expertise and guidance will directly influence the strength and value of Honeywell's intellectual assets. By providing legal counsel and guidance on IP matters, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Honeywell's IP rights are protected and enforced. You will report directly to our VP, Chief IP Counsel – Process Technology and you’ll work out of our Rosemont, IL or Charlotte NC location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact Honeywell's ability to protect its innovations, maintain a strong IP portfolio, and drive business growth through strategic intellectual property management. Your contributions will help Honeywell stay at the forefront of technology and maintain a competitive advantage in the market.

Requirements

  • License to practice as a lawyer in a major legal jurisdiction.
  • License to practice before the USPTO
  • A minimum of 8 years of legal experience in intellectual property at a leading law-firm and/or in-house experience.
  • Extensive intellectual property experience with an emphasis on domestic and international portfolio development and providing proactive recommendations to mitigate IP risks.
  • Good understanding of IP technology transactions including IP licensing, joint development agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance on intellectual property (IP) matters to Honeywell's business units and senior management.
  • Manage and oversee the protection and enforcement of Honeywell's IP rights, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licensing agreements, technology transfer agreements, and joint development agreements.
  • Conduct IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other IP business transactions.
  • Provide IP training to mitigate risks.
  • Manage and oversee the work of external IP counsel.
