This temporary position is located at 3200 Atlantic Avenue - Wake County, with Treasurer’s Office. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $50.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). The Assistant General Counsel position provides policy and program management and provides legal services and advice to Divisions within the agency.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law by the North Carolina State Bar and two years of progressively responsible professional legal experience.

Responsibilities

  • External policy management and boards and commissions management.
  • External Policy contractors and team members.
  • Legal support areas for the Chief of Staff, Divisions including the State Health Plan.
  • Responsible to support the Chief of Staff on legal decisions around increase in litigation portfolio and corporate governance issues.
  • Leading Contracts and Procurement Review.
  • Other duties as assigned.
