About The Position
The Assistant Gardener at Aronimink Golf Club is a seasonal position starting in February 2025, aimed at supporting the Garden Manager in maintaining and enhancing the club's gardens and landscaped areas. The Assistant Gardener will play a crucial role in ensuring that the grounds are cared for with the utmost attention and expertise, contributing to the overall beauty and prestige of the club. Aronimink Golf Club, founded in 1896 and located in Newtown Square, PA, is renowned for its exceptional dining and sporting activities, including a nationally ranked golf course designed by Donald Ross. The club offers a variety of facilities, including golf, trapshooting, a pool, and several dining outlets. It is recognized as one of the top golf courses in the country and is a certified Audubon International site, committed to environmental stewardship. The Assistant Gardener will work closely with the Garden Manager to maintain the stunning gardens that enhance the club's reputation. The position involves various responsibilities, including planting, watering, pruning, mulching, weeding, composting, and general upkeep of garden areas. The Assistant Gardener will also assist in installing and maintaining seasonal garden containers and flower displays, participate in integrated pest management, and help maintain gardening tools and equipment. This role requires a strong commitment to high standards of garden presentation and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
