For the Front End assistant department manager, this means overseeing the job of the Front End department manager; and the departments operations, managing the team, ensuring employee engagement, streamlining workflows and delivering exceptional customer experiences to achieve business goals.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, addressing concerns, and ensuring staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
  • Support department morale by leading with professionalism, recognizing staff efforts, and addressing issues constructively.
  • Train & mentor team members, ensuring all new hires are fully trained and supported by experienced staff.
  • Assist in scheduling, supervising, & developing department staff; post & monitor weekly schedules & breaks.
  • Ensure front-end operations run smoothly by checking registers, supplying change, and ordering necessary supplies.
  • Oversee cashier performance, including accurate code usage, drawer accuracy, and adherence to company policies
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including registers, walls, windows, and floors.
  • Enforce safety procedures, labor laws, and store policies, promoting a safe environment for both staff and customers.
  • Collaborate with management and departments to solve issues and assist as needed during peak times.
  • Always maintain professionalism, offering feedback privately and following appropriate protocols for sensitive conversations
  • Assist with job interviews, disciplinary conversations, and employee development to support individual and company goals.
  • Train and support new and existing Front End Cashiers to build a skilled and effective team.
  • Supporting and filling in as active manager when department manager is absent
  • Assist with staff scheduling & if assigned, ensure payroll accuracy to support operational & budget goals.
  • Handle unexpected issues like callouts, employee conflicts, & inventory discrepancies promptly
  • Respond to customer complaints to ensure satisfaction and uphold the stores reputation.
  • Support Front End associates, leads, and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient department operations.
