An Assistant Foreman supports manufacturing operations at Clark Pacific and may have duties assigned including but not limited to: Production Lines, Maintenance, Loading, Kitting/Procurement, Woodshop, Batch Plant, Glass Division, Clark Metal Works (CMW)/ PEP and/or Facilities. Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with team members, projects, and receiving proprietary information. Instruct and lead employees in daily workflow and applications of safety principles and processes. Oversee training activities, employee communications and initial response to staff issues or conflicts. Read and interpret blueprints and/or work plans, distribute to applicable team members, as needed. Provide support and coordination of assigned projects with Foreman. Operate heavy equipment including tractors, forklifts of all sizes, cranes, concrete mixer trucks, water trucks, yard goats, all-terrain vehicles (ATV), company vehicles (as designated), as needed. Lead, implement, and ensure adherence to established safety principles, processes, standard operating procedure (SOP), and job hazard analysis (JHA), for required material, equipment, and property. Complete required documentation and perform material handling procedures required for specified materials, products, and equipment in receiving, storing, disbursement and/or delivery. Prepare and assemble materials for manufacturing according to blueprints by mixing, cutting, bending, welding, gluing, or other specified instructions. Materials may include but are not limited to concrete, sand, additive mixtures, wood materials, rebar, windows, steel, plastic, screws, bulkheads. Contribute to team ownership of clean work areas. Keep debris, recyclables, unkept materials and hazardous materials in their designated place. Clean up as required and tools utilized may include but are not limited to brooms, shovels, rakes, water, compressed air. Operate machinery, hand/power tools including but not limited to moderate to repetitive use of tape measures, hammers, drills, wire cutters, woodworking equipment, stirrup benders, lathes, Computer Numeric Control (CNC), large metal chop saws, grinders, welding machines, torches, air compressors. Work Environment Exposure to outside weather conditions include extreme cold and heat, wet, and/or humid state, fumes, wind, airborne particles, and vibration. Visual: fast paced and detail-oriented environment. Ability to work safely on and around moving mechanical parts. Audio: noise level is usually moderate to loud. Shift times and overtime may vary depending on manufacturing levels and processes. Requires personal equipment including but not limited to high-visibility clothing/ vests, hard hat, respirator, gloves, protective eye, ear, mouth, hand, and footwear. Occasional exposure to office environment and desk usage. Physical Demands Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, step, squat, kneel, crawl, stoop, and/or crouch occasionally, frequently or constantly in designated work area. Ability to climb up to 15 feet and maintain balance. Ability to frequently or constantly twist (neck, waist, and back). Ability to frequently or constantly bend (legs, arms, neck, waist and back). Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. frequently. Partner or equipment assisted lifting required for >50lbs. Ability to carry, push, pull up to 50lbs. Ability to have repetitive simple and power grasping. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Utilize hearing protection & maintain required communication. Manuel dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and ability to meet physical requirements. Occasional: sitting at desk, utilizing computers, phones, and applicable technological equipment
