About The Position

Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting in the evaluation, recruitment, training and coaching of student-athletes to compete successfully against the highest level of NCAA intercollegiate competition in a quality sports program. The Assistant Coach is held directly accountable for these general responsibilities related to the assigned sports program: assist with the overall management and administration of the assigned sports program, compliance with the budget of the program, and the recruiting, training and performance of student-athletes, as assigned by the Head Coach.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and policies
  • Coaching philosophy and teaching concepts must be compatible with those of the Head Coach
  • Ability to work cooperatively with coaches, staff, faculty, students and members of the community
  • Ability and willingness to support the diversity and equity commitments of the department
  • Commitment to academic integrity and compliance with University, conference and NCAA regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
  • Experience coaching football at the collegiate level in the NFL, or other professional football league.
  • Must be immediately eligible to obtain a State of California driver’s license and must be able to comply with all university requirements pertaining to driving on university business.
  • A background check of the candidate’s driving record will be required.
