About The Position

The assistant coach is responsible for assisting in the evaluation, recruitment, training, and coaching of student-athletes to compete successfully against the highest level of NCAA intercollegiate competition in a quality sports program. The Assistant Coach is held directly accountable for the following general responsibilities related to the assigned sports program: assisting with the overall management and administration of the program, ensuring compliance with the program's budget, and recruiting, training, and evaluating student-athletes, as assigned by the Head Coach.

Requirements

  • Coaching philosophy and teaching concepts must be compatible with those of the Head Coach
  • Ability to work cooperatively with coaches, staff, faculty, students and members of the community
  • Ability and willingness to support the diversity and equity commitments of the department
  • Commitment to academic integrity and compliance with University, conference and NCAA regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
  • Experience coaching football at the D1/FBS collegiate level, in the NFL, or other professional football league.
  • Must be immediately eligible to obtain a State of California driver’s license and must be able to comply with all university requirements pertaining to driving on university business.
  • A background check of the candidate’s driving record will be required
