About The Position

Concordia University Chicago is seeking a full-time Defensive Coordinator for its Football Program. This role is pivotal in overseeing the defensive strategies and development of student-athletes, ensuring compliance with university and NCAA regulations, and fostering a supportive Christian environment for student-athletes' holistic development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree; Master's preferred.
• Three years of coaching experience on the defensive side of the ball.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and developing football student-athletes on the defensive side of play.
• Strong administrative skills, including related computer and technology skills.
• Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of two years of successful coordinating experience on the defensive side of the ball.
• Successful recruitment and retention strategies.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the defensive side of the football program.
• Recruitment and retention of student-athletes to meet enrollment and roster expectations.
• Development and implementation of defensive strategies for the program.
• Design practice plans to enhance the skills of defensive student-athletes.
• Collaborate with the head coach in evaluating and managing defensive position coaches.
• Develop student-athletes as part of building a competitive football program.
• Adhere to all rules, policies, and bylaws for Concordia University Chicago, NACC, and NCAA.
• Incorporate Concordia University's mission and foster a Christian environment for student-athletes.
